Allen Burnett, Project Rebound Liaison, Project Re/Frame Ensemble, is a California State University-Los Angeles Communication Studies major and promising author inspired by Social Justice and Prison Reform. His work is featured in Colloquy, a journal of Cal State LA’s Department of Communication Studies, and in the WordUncaged anthologies: Human and Disconnected Reconnected. Allen has written several creative articles surrounding incarceration; his most recent was featured in the San Quentin, September 2019 Newspaper.
Allen served a 28-year prison sentence and advocates against Life without the Possibility of Parole and promotes the value of higher education during incarceration. While incarcerated at California State Prison, Los Angeles County, Allen participated in three TheatreWorkers Project programs and is currently a key member of the Project Re/Frame ensemble. Allen continues leading, learning, and growing.
