TheatreWorkers Project will be the featured guests on No Labels No Walls (NLNW) Action Mondays.
NLNW members consist of Finnish and International organizations, NGOs, and individuals whose current work is in the arts and culture, immigration, elderly, prisons, rehabilitation, and educational fields. Making the Journey, featuring guest artist, Jimmy Santiago Baca, and The Journey will be screened. They will be followed by a discussion with the viewers and TheatreWorkers Project artists.
The Journey is a theatre piece written and performed by 21 men from California State Prison-Los Angeles County (LAC) “A” Yard. It was developed during TheatreWorkers Project’s Life Stories from the Inside/Out program. Making the Journey takes viewers behind the walls of LAC into the “A” Yard chapel where TheatreWorkers Project’s guest artist and poet, Jimmy Santiago Baca, leads a workshop. That workshop became the inspiration for The Journey.
